Evan is SIX!

Evan's birthday fell on Saturday this year, but he had the pleasure of beginning the celebration a day early by bringing in cupcakes to share with his classmates.  He was very excited to have this birthday hat, which he sported out to dinner that Friday!
Ethan had a minor wardrobe malfunction in the restaurant and needed to be changed in the back of Mom-Mom's car.  "Chubby Cheeks" could not be a more perfect shirt for this little one!
On Saturday morning, we found out that the Truck Convoy was coming down Route 36.  So Evan, Ryan, and I loaded up on our bikes and pedaled down to the end our road to check it out.
There were hundreds of trucks, and I think all but maybe two honked at us as they drove by.  It was pretty neat, and the boys had a blast!
Since we were already on our bikes, why  not ride circles around Ethan?
Evan requested a bald eagle cake for his birthday this year.  And I'm all about simplicity, so two round cake pans and some tastee cakes resulted in this masterpiece:
The hat made a reappearance for cake time!  :o)
Who gave this kid coffee ice cream??
Halmoni gave Ev the usual - a nice winter coat for the season!
Ryan is giving Evan his presents that he picked out for him - the game Trouble, a little notebook, and a toy dinosaur.

Rest of September

Every Thursday at the Greenwood Library is "Read to the Dogs" night, so we tried it out one rainy evening.  Evan picked this sweet dog to read to, who never moved a muscle the entire time.
Ryan decided he wanted to read to these "cute" little guys...  :o)
We finally acquired a double stroller from a fellow teacher in Josh's school, and took it for a test run.
Ethan was starting to stand a lot on his own near the end of September, but still not taking steps on his own yet.
Since school started, Evan does not get to hang out at Mom-Mom and Dad-Dad's house and collect sticks, so he really makes the most of his time when mommy had to work late.
All summer, the boys begged for sleep overs in Evan's room.  Even on nights when Ryan would fall asleep in his own room, we would go upstairs the next morning to find him in Evan's bed anyway.  So...  they now share a room, and they love it!  I was worried they would be silly and take forever to get to sleep each night, but they have been very responsible, chat for a few minutes, and then it's sweet dreams.
Ethan taking a stroll around the barn, checking out the gourds.
Woodbridge opened their new high school this year, which is now adjacent to their sports complex, and they had their first annual Woodbridge Festival.  Every sports team had a home game, and we were able to catch a portion of the girls' volleyball game and the boys' soccer game.  There was also a parking lot area full of games, music, and food.  Ryan took a turn at the dunk tank.
Evan gunned a few in there, too!
The soccer players watching the varsity boys playing a game on the big field.  They were impressed how much the ball came off the ground, and wanted to practice it right away!
Ethan was more impressed with the fence than the actual soccer...
During Race weekend, we watched Kate and Jack and took them to Evan and Ryan's soccer game.  It was a scorching hot day, so ice pops all around!
Pop-Pop had a day off and took Ryan to the beach.  It was a little windy, but Ryan had tons of fun!
Ethan gets happy when we come to fetch him from his crib.
