Happy Birthday, Dad!

Josh celebrated his 28th birthday on Saturday, so we headed up to Jared and Gina's for a fabulous get together. The older cousins started the day with going to the tarantula exhibit at a local museum, and this fun tortoise was near the parking lot.

I think Evan would have been gone in one little bite!

Squirrel! :o)

Talk about up close and personal with the tarantulas...

By far the cutest tarantula I've ever seen! :o)

Nothing like bubbles to keep the kiddos busy.

Ryan and Jack - exactly five months apart. Ryan still has him in length, but I think Jack has him in girth!! :o)

Judy cousins picture - Kate, Jack, Ryan, Evan, Issac and Leah. Whew!!

Brotherly love. Ryan might be a little big for this pose... :o)

Then we finally get to essence of the birthday -- presents!! :o)

We continued the birthday celebration at our house today, and took the opportunity to take a Hertzog cousins picture. The boys - Caden, Evan and Ryan.

Then Ryan went with the eye gouge...

And tried to flee the scene!

Ryan is Six Months!

Our little Ry-Guy had his six month checkup this past week. He measured 28 inches long (90%) and weighed in at 14 pounds 8 ounces (less than 5%). Our little guy only gained 5 ounces since his last appointment, so we're under strict instructions to count calories and get as much formula in as possible to get to 800 calories a day. We're trying! We'll see how much weight he's gained in a few weeks, so let's keep our fingers crossed that he'll plump up soon! :o)

.

Ryan is starting to be a little more stable while he's sitting on his own.

Our skinny minster.

And he wonders why he gets stuck... obviously Evan is a little large for the exersaucer!
Evan discovering the joys of a "sticky hand"...
He was quite fascinated that it stuck to the wall, and almost anything else!
Here is a taste of the constant noise production that comes out of the smallest member of our family. The noise is not discontent -- just constant, piercing, general noise. I think he does it so that we don't forget there's a small person bouncing nearby. I do believe, however, that I have a permanent twitch because of it. And yes, that is Evan counting his cheese pieces in the background, while simultaneously building a tower of them.

(Nazgul, anyone?!?)

Woods Boy

Money, Money, Money... MONEY!!! :o)
(Josh got Ev some fake money, and he loves to sort it out and put it in his wallet.)
This is how Evan announces he's ready for the bounce house -- he gathers a basket full of balls and waits patiently.
Ryan enjoying the Ryan-Sized couch.
Evan enjoyed a day at the park with Dad today.
"Weee!!!!!!!"
And of course, time at the park doesn't last too long before it turns into time in the woods.
Doing what he does best -- throwing stones into the water.
A stick taller than Ev.
"Whoa baby!" Twice as big as Ev!!

Happy Birthday, Isaac!!

Jared and Gina's little Isaac turned one year old this past week, so we went up on Saturday to help him celebrate. The birthday boy looking up to some mischief...
Sharing boys.
The train table is always a hit.
A wagon ride to enjoy the weather.
Leah taking a page out of Evan's book and picking up the BIG sticks.
Walking in the woods with Mom-Mom and Dad-Dad. Some action shots running down a hill in the woods:
Wee!!!
Ry-Guy enjoying the party.
Presents! Okay, he was a little more interested in the gift bag... :o)
Look out behind you, Leah!! Check out Gina's super cute cake for Isaac, including a train on some train tracks.
Yummy!!! :o)
