Summer is for Swimming

Aunt Lina helped Evan show off his new swim suit.
A little better view. The suit is a little large since he didn't have a diaper on! (I have yet to purchase some of the swimmy diapers...)
Showing a little plumber's crack.
Splish splash -- we do love the water!
Floating around in his fancy hippo.

Sleep?

Heck no!
He prefers to climb his crib instead...

Family Photo Attempt

With a little help from our photographer Erica, we tried to pull it together for a family photo. Poor Ev was on his downslide into illness, but we'll take it! :o)

And trying to get a little one-on-one photos:

Cousins

It was hard to catch on camera, as usual, but Kate would approach both babies and squat down next to them and get right in their face. It was as if she was making absolute certain that this was in fact Evan Judy.
The three grandchildren read a book with Grandmom.
Ev was able to share a bathtime with Kate.
In a game of shirts and skins, Ev was #3. :o)
"Leah... you're touching my foot..."
Um, so how many people and time does it take to get three children who are wearing the same outfits to sit nicely for a photo? We're not sure -- we never got there!!!!!!!!!!! :o) Here's the closest I got...

Kate keeps Ev company while I got his breakfast ready.

Uncle Josh helps Kate go down the slide.
Unfortunately, I was unable to catch everyone spending some QT with Evan, but here are the moments that I did manage to catch over the week...
.
Some of the few non-rainy moments of the week were spent on the porch with Dad.
Catching a ride on Aunt Jenn's shoulders at the park. Getting a cuddle in with Aunt Gina.
Trying to figure out why Uncle Jared sounds so much like Dad...

Poconos Vacation

Last week, we headed up to the Poconos to spend a week with the extended Judy Family, including all of Josh's brothers, their wives, our two neices, and Josh's parents. We decided to start the drive up by splitting it in two. We stopped off at my cousin Erika's house and spent the night. The next morning we were able to have a nice breakfast with her, her husband Tom, and their two daughters, Lauren and Kiersten. Below, Evan enjoys reading a book with Kiersten.

Once we arrived at our rental house, we were able to visit the community center where there was a nice little park. Evan enjoyed the swing, even though he looked like a little Ewok! :o)

And he enjoyed a nice ride down the slide with his Dad. Josh got a little wedged on the way down...

Unfortunately, mid-week, Evan got sick... :o( He wanted to be cuddled a lot, so this is how we had to sleep.
On a brighter note, Evan feels much better and we were able to enjoy the week in spite of the illness. We are sad that the week is over, and we cannot wait to do it again! :o)

Guess Who!

Evan in color...

Evan in black and white? Nope! It's actually my dad! :o) Evan is Joe's twin, almost exactly 50 years later.

My Favorites

Ev cuddles with his dad before bed time. Look at those sleepy eyes! :o)
Ev gets a big kick out of this new seat made out of Dad's arm.
I am not quite sure why, but I love this view of Evan -- his shoulders are so tiny and his head so round!
"Did you just take a picture of me? Don't do that..."

Day at Grandmom's

Josh went for a day of golf on Saturday, so that gave Ev and I a chance to relax at his parents' house. We had a full day of activities to keep Evan occupied, starting with the swing. Ev thinks, "Seriously with the camera again?"

"But okay, since it really is fun, I will smile!"

Then we took a walk down the road. Ev keeps track of the ground we're passing.

And rounded out the evening with some light reading. He really enjoyed the books that he could pet (baby animals) and the ones with buttons that he could push.

Eight Months

At eight month's, Evan's unofficial, homemade statistics are 19.5 pounds and 26.5 inches. This puts him right on the 50% mark for weight and on the 25% mark on height. We're not sure how accurate these measurements are, but we tried our hardest. Hopefully that height will catch up with that weight and we won't have a short, squat one. :o)
.
Evan does really well sitting on his own. Of course, we still have our spills, but they're becoming more graceful and tend to roll right into crawling anyway. It was a little warm today, so I let him play with my cold water bottle. Ev thinks, "this doesn't really taste like water..."

"Hee hee, yep -- I knocked it over!"

Evan also received two more teeth, probably about two weeks ago. I hope the picture is big enough for you to see them! :o) There's a small gap, but hopefully they will come together with more teeth. Also, he was making his scunchie nose, so I promise our kid doesn't have Goonies eyes!!
Evan has really gotten the hang of his walker, too, now that his feet reach the ground! A little honk, and away we go!

A little ticklish

Evan shows that he is more than a little bit ticklish. I try to do something similar to this, but Josh always gets the best results. :o)

It's also probably time to retire this onesie -- it looks a little snug!
