I didn't do it!

"Mom, I don't know what you're talking about... I did not rip the elephant ear off of my crib bumper..."
Big cousin Kate wanted to help push Evan in the swing.

Whew, now that we're all buckled in, we can swing! Too bad the swing kept hitting her in the head!! And her bathing suit being on backwards didn't really help too much either... :o)

They also enjoyed a fun wagon ride together!

The rest of the weekend

Saturday was spent at Josh's Uncle Tim and Aunt Brenda's house. They hosted a Judy picnic since a lot of family was in town and we had a few birthdays to celebrate. Once again, Evan enjoys the pool!
Then it was time to unpack from a busy weekend. Evan wasn't quite ready though... :o)
Whew -- what a family filled week and we loved every minute of it! Now, we rest... :o)

Friday was a beach day

Evan visited the Rehoboth beach for the first time on Friday. Before we got too busy, Ev enjoyed a bottle with Grandmom Judy.
Testing out the sand on our feet...
Much more fun with the water!!
And then we let him sit in it. Evan had fun, but we had our hands full trying to not let the waves take him away, and trying not to let him eat too much sand!
Kate came over to play too!
It was getting a little chilly, so Grandmom helped warm him up.
Then to Grotto's for lunch!! This was as close as the high chairs would allow them to be together. Close enough to poke, but it provided enough distance for personal space. :o)
Back to the car. Whew! What an action packed day!

Thursday at the Fair

The busy week continues at the Delaware State Fair! Jess, Jenn and Kate came over and we all (including Grandmom and Grandad Judy and family friend Bob) went to the opening day of the Fair. Ev looks on as Kate gets to ride...
a fun tractor!!
"Hmm... don't we have these in the backyard?"
And then we pet some of the Passwaters' sheep. They were so soft!

Wednesday at the Hertzogs

My cousin Jen was up from North Carolina with her three kids, so we met up at my parents' house for dinner. Below, Jen helps Evan show off his baseball cap.
Aunt Lina feeds Ev dinner.
And we get to play with the new puppy!!
"Okay, a little too close for comfort!"

If you're happy, and you know it...

Clap your hands!! :o)

Evan has recently learned to clap his hands. He particularly likes it when you clap with him!

Window Shopper

Now that Evan has gotten the hang of pulling himself up, he loves to stand at the window and keep an eye on everything that goes on. (Let's note the outfit, shall we? It is the middle of July, with the windows open, and we have Ev all bundled up!! I love this weather!!)

Tip toes!!

We don't even need clothes to look out the window!

Mom had to do a little bit of cropping to get this picture blog-worthy... :o) "Um, do you see what's going on out there?"

And because Gauri always travels so far just to come see little Ev, she deserves some love on the blog!! :o) She showers him with so much love and gifts, we all thank her!!

Taking a Stand

Now that he has mastered pulling himself up on everything, Ev prefers to stand. He enjoys looking out the front window at the cars going by.
Could you back up a little if you're going to watch tv?
"Back up? Oh, you crack me up!"

Life is Better Outside

The weather has been gorgeous lately, so we have spent a lot of time outside with Evan. We set up his play pen so he can see the cars go by on the road, and Josh can still work in the garden or see him from the back porch. Ev enjoys being a little jailbird for a little while...

"Okay, don't look... I'm going to try to break out by slipping out where these two aren't screwed together!"

"Well, I guess it's not so bad in here."

Josh usually puts a sheet down when he uses the play pen, otherwise Ev would eat all of the grass. This is evidenced by us stopping by a park and seeing what he would do.

It's a little bitter...

Nine Months

Evan celebrated his nine month birthday on July 4th, and he had his well visit today. This is his last visit before his ONE YEAR check up! Craziness! Ev measured 28 inches long and weighed in at 19 pounds 7 ounces, putting him slightly below 50% in both height and weight. At nine months, Evan is quite loud!! :o) He is doing well with putting together sounds, especially "ma", "da", "ga" and "ba". He is also crawling around like a crazy person and climbing up on everything!

Ev also had a small taste of cat food, so we blocked him off with a sideways chair. This, too, makes a wonderful climbing apparatus.

Evan has no fear, though, so he has taken quite a few tumbles. Check out the poor kid's black eye. :o(

Showing off our 4th of July outfit.

And once again sharing bath time with Diesel. I guess Diesel didn't get the memo that cats aren't supposed to like water...
