State Fair Continued...

Fair week continues, and the boys took a turn at the corn table, filling up their silos.
 Baby goats!
 So sweet!
Another trip to the fair led us to the circus.
 Silly Ev...
We went to the Boardwalk on Thursday...  where a bird pooped on me... on my head!  :o(
Evan and Kate riding the helicopters all by themselves.
 Ice cream time!
 Kiddos counting canteloupe.
More Fair time, and we stood in line patiently waiting for the parade.
Ryan and his newly acquired Penguin enjoy some more tractor climbing.
Here is our testament to how stinking HOT it was...  Leah and Evan's hair says it all!!  :o)
The boys helped Pop-Pop this morning wash his truck.
Due to all of our packing, we have let Evan play with his LeapPad more than necessary.  Ryan looks on in amazement...

The Fair is Here!!

Earlier in the week, we were able to watch the storm roll in from our back porch.
Ev helped on the farm by driving the 5-wheeler for picking watermelon.
 Ry doing some mud-hoppin'...
Ev, unfortunately, got stung by a yellow jacket right under his eye.  He looked like this for a few days...
Saturday morning, I got some cuddles in with Isaac while he waited patiently for his turn on the swings.
Then the kiddos watched some "Bingo" after lunch.
Then off to the Fair after naps!  Watching a sheep get sheered...  Ev's excited!  :o)
Ev petting some of the sweet goats in the petting zoo.
 Tractor boys!
Mom-Mom and the grandkids tearing out of the place on this ATV!  Don't worry - Leah's buckled in!  :o)
Ev asked to hold the chick.  I'm not sure he likes it...  :o)

More Summer Fun!

When the boys go to Wal-Mart with Daddy, they come back as Batman!  (We did have two superheroes, but Ryan refused to participate at the time...)
So, we finally convinced Evan to stay in his room instead of sneaking out to the living room every night to sleep on his little Cars couch or the big couch. He has now taken it upon himself to gather his friends into a pile on the floor and sleep there... he tells me "it's cozy!"
On Wednesday, the boys got to go to the Greenwood Library with Mom-Mom, where there was an aquatic presentation, and they got to color, make fish, and experience the coral reefs.
Ryan became enamored with this big Clifford, and Mom-Mom had to pry his little fingers off of him to go home...
And Evan took part in some of the computer games.
Then, that evening, we headed to the Rehoboth boardwalk for some fun with my friend Andrena and her daughter Madison.
A climbing buddy to hit up the big jungle gym!
A ride on the paratrooper ride - Ev said this was his favorite.  (Mine too!)
Madison convinced Ev to ride the "fast cars" with her.  He had fun but said his neck got tired of holding his head up!  :o)
In the spirit of being a trooper and riding big kid rides, Evan agreed to ride this frog hopper one...  It pulls you straight up and drops you.  With no warning.  Over and over and over again...  I didn't have time to explain to Evan what we were about to experience, because as soon as the harness was down, we shot straight up in the air.  This picture says it all - Madison having the time of her life; Evan scared for his life; and me trying to calm Evan and stop the involuntary shrieks coming out of my mouth with every drop.  When it was all over, I asked Evan if he wanted to ride it again.  He said no...  :o)
A little calmer - the helicopters!
 Teacups!
Back to Ry-Ry speed, a little ride on the motorcycles.
And of course, we wrapped up the evening with some Kohr Brother's ice cream!

Farming and Fireworks

I apologize for my small hiatus from the blog...  I don't really have an excuse, just busy.  But time for some catch up!  :o)

Mom-Mom and Dad-Dad kept the boys so Josh and I could go out to dinner for our anniversary.  They got to spend the next morning showing their shark books to Bob.
Then off to the farm for some mum planting!  It appears as though there's lots of work going on in the background.  Ry... not so much...
Ev supplying Dad-Dad with some pots.
Silly boys!!
As for some house progress, we got our porch screened in.
And our built-in shelves were installed!
To take a break from some of the INSANE heat we've endured lately, we took our picnic indoors.  This is our first meal in our dining room!  :o)
Since we all had the day off on July 4, we headed up to spend the day with Jared, Gina, Leah and Isaac.  All the kiddos worked up quite the sweat, so a bath was definitely necessary!
So sweet!
On our way home, we made a last minute decision to stop in Dover to see the fireworks.  We killed some time in Target and bought some ice cream bars to enjoy before the big show.  100 degree heat plus ice cream bars = SUPER STICKY BOYS...
 Some glow stick action...
Josh likes to take the boys to Brown's Branch Park and throw rocks in the stream.  He recently found a location there where they can actually get IN, which they LOVED!
Enjoying some raisins at the farm while Daddy watered some mums.
Ev has learned to lose his pants when he's hot...
Then we hit up the pool with Pop-Pop!
 Relaxing...
Mom-Mom teaching the boys how to make those beautiful zinnia bouquets.
 Cleaning out the barn.
And after some rain today, we finally had a little puddle to throw some rocks in - YAY! :o)
