Happy Memorial Day!

So, I'm getting a lot of flack from my husband for missing my weekly Sunday evening post... however, I figured since it was a long holiday weekend, a Monday evening post was equivalent, no?? It makes sense in my head anyway! :o)
.
Ev concurs with Great Uncle Eric and Uncle Josh -- the water is just right!!
Helping Pop-Pop out by passing a cold beverage through the dog door.
Sidewalk chalk with Pop-Pop.
Aunt Lina getting in on the drawing action as well!
Ev enjoys a swing ride with Grandmom at Great Grandma's house.
A friendly little neighbor of the Great Grandparents made a good bud for Ev, and she showed him how to give a toad a bath.
Ah, the John Deere. Must fill the buggy with sticks and leaves and such!

Giraffe-y!

It is evident how relaxed our weekend has been due to our lack of pictures! :o) The only pictures we have this week are from our yummy trip to Grotto's on Saturday evening. Evan absolutely loved this car racing game, where he proceeded to turn the wheel back and forth and make "brrm brrm" noises. I guess we'll just call ourselves lucky that we don't actually have to put the quarters in yet! :o)
Directly next to the car-racing game was the claw game thing-a-ma-jig, where Josh only took two attempts to get this giraffe for Evan.
At first, Evan tried to give it back. (I think the eyes were a little scary... they were quite large!)
But by the time we got back to Mom-mom and Dad-dad's house and took a bath, he just wanted to hug his new-found friend. :o)

A Day with Kate!!

Jess and Jenn went to the races at Dover Downs today, so we got to spend the day with Kate. The day started off with some books...
Then Josh turned the living room into the rumble room!
We took the kiddos to this trail around the corner from our house. Typical girl versus boys: Kate on the trail like a normal human, and Evan venturing into the woods to find sticks.
Kate found a fun treat!
The trail is popular for horses, so we got to pet one on our way back to the car.
After nap time, I attempted to braid Kate's hair. This was Evan's first sign of jealousy, where he kept trying to sit in my lap and have me read books to him.
Sharing the Lil Kawasaki again.
Picking strawberries!
"Coloring." And yes, I put it in quotes for a reason! :o)
Evan and Kate played the mocking bird game all day today. This was the end of breakfast after they have been copying each other:
After this busy, busy day, the kids were pooped!! They had a super fun time together, and I think we will all sleep sound tonight! :o)

Woodbridge Festival

We attended a festival at Woodbridge Elementary School on Saturday with Kate and Grandmom Judy. We started the day at the petting zoo, playing with the baby chicks.
Look out, Ev!!
This poor two-day-old calf did not stay awake for long! When we came back later to check on her, she was asleep in the shade.
I asked Evan if he wanted to ride the ducks with Kate, and he said yes. Here is the look of apprehension as the ducks took off:
Way across the field is where the troops broke down...
The guy driving the tractor cut the ride short since he heard Ev crying, and he came back with his hat pulled down over his eyes. (Kate had fun!)
And this was underneath the hat... :o(
Then we tried to take a ride in the fire truck. Ev took a bit to get used to that too, but he enjoyed the second half of the ride! (And don't worry, dude -- I'm five months pregnant carrying a 25 pound kid down some steep steps. I don't need help...)
Ev saw that Kate had Elmo on her hand, so he wanted a baseball on his hand!
Helping Kate with the putting challenge.
Picking up ducks for coins to buy prizes.
Throwing baseballs is Evan's forte!
At home, Ev and Kate enjoyed some sidewalk chalk.
Bath time!

New Addition to the Family!

After my kitty passed away in December, I've been begging Josh to let me get another kitty. He has been ignoring my requests until he and Evan, through a series of events and trickeration, surprised me with this sweetie they found at the SPCA! :o) She has yet to be named, but she gets plenty of love from everyone in the family and I think she has found her home!
Evan loves to watch her and tries so hard to brush and pet her when she lets her guard down.

Happy Mother's Day!

I really enjoyed my time with everyone on Mother's Day today! We started the day off with breakfast at Grandmom Hertzog's house, where Ev was sure to get in lots of hugs and kisses (and a few animal crackers!). Then we went to visit Grandmom Judy for a late lunch at the Suicide Bridge restaurant. The best part of this restaurant is all the ducks hanging around waiting to get some corn. Evan had a blast throwing corn at the ducks!
Look at all of the ducks!
So much fun!
Evan was getting a little fussy on the car ride home, so Grandmom had to spring into action. He wears himself out with this chuckle... :o)

And all of the reasons that make Mother's Day so much fun appear below. :o) This picture does NOT do these most awesome pajamas justice!!!
Grandmom Hertzog tried to spruce up Evan's 'do with some mousse.
In an effort to learn about bugs, Josh put this ant on Ev's shirt. He was obviously very concerned...
Love the flops!

Week 20

Wow -- it's hard to believe that we have just passed the halfway point for pregnancy number 2!! I am way larger now than I was at this point last time, but I suppose that is to be expected. :o) We recently found out that we are going to be blessed with another boy, so I'm trying to rest up now to prepare for all of the energy to come!!

Enjoying a graham cracker snack. I just love his smile in this picture -- he looks so grown up!
Cruising on the John Deere mower that Grandad Judy bought for him.
Woo-woo! Looking fly in his summer attire.
I guess Ev is a little jealous that Josh and I can sit on the couch with our feet up on the table, so he decided to try it out.
Jeonga and Jeong Hak headed back to Korea today, so there was a small family gathering at my sister's house yesterday to see them off. With all eyes on him, Evan was quite the ham!
